Title: White Out (The White Out Series Book 1)
Author(s) Margo Judge

Sixteen-year-old Wren has a gift.

Keenly observant and intuitive, she can read eyes. That is, until a transfer student from California enters her Washington, DC, classroom with eyes that confuse and confound Wren. Frustrated, she starts to watch, then follow, her new classmate. Soon obsessed, Wren actively spies. What she ultimately uncovers rouses a passion deeper than her devotion to solitude. It will thrust Wren into an open and perilous battle for a classmate she hardly knows.

Wren also recedes into white-blanketed fogs she calls White Outs. Last year, they eased crushing grief following her father’s sudden death. Now, they alleviate boredom. That is, until the same day the new student arrives, and Wren’s White Out clears. She finds herself in a foreign city, in the middle of an alternate life at boarding school with a best friend.

Is Wren going crazy? If so, she’s terrified her mother will seize the opportunity to rewrite her bio. So Wren starts a secret Truth Journal to her trusted, deceased Dad. She reveals innermost thoughts and feelings about the events and people in her parallel lives. But as her dual existence turns disturbing and dangerous, Wren will need more than her truth journal to combat an evil now present in both worlds.
